Introduction to strengths

Strengths are underlying qualities that energise us, contribute to our personal growth and lead to peak performance. Importantly in this definition, strengths are things that energise us, we feel good using them and their use leads to high quality performance each time we use them. They are more than just things that we are good at.

Out of the developing field of Positive Psychology, there are now a range of tools and approaches that can help you do exactly that. The unifying idea behind all the work that is being undertaken under the banner of Positive Psychology (and associated fields) is the search for what works and what is good and helping people build on these things. This is in stark contrast to the traditional ways of thinking in both psychology and business where the focus is on finding what isn't working and trying to fix it.

This strengths focus doesn't mean that you should ignore weaknesses, just spend more time focusing on strengths and finding ways to manage the weaknesses differently

We use two questionnaire based profiling tools to help you identify your strengths; Strengthscope and MBTI together with a coaching process designed to help you leverage and develop your strengths.
